What Is Ting?
Ting is a small smart sensor designed to help identify electrical hazards in your home before they have an opportunity to cause an electrical fire.
You simply plug the sensor into an outlet and connect it to your home’s Wi-Fi. From there, Ting continuously monitors your home’s electrical network for signals that could indicate potentially dangerous electrical problems.
If Ting detects a hazard, its team can alert you and help determine what needs to happen next.
In other words, think of Ting as another set of eyes watching your home’s electrical system—even for problems you may have no idea are happening behind your walls.
What Does Westfield’s Free Ting Program Include?
For eligible Westfield homeowners and farm policyholders, the complimentary program includes:
- A Ting smart sensor that monitors your home’s electrical system for potential fire hazards.
- The Ting app and three years of service at no cost to you.
- Notifications and expert assistance if Ting detects a potential electrical hazard.
- Help coordinating repairs when a problem is discovered.
- Up to $1,000 toward labor costs for repairs to electrical hazards identified through Ting, subject to the program’s terms.
That means this isn’t simply a free piece of technology. It’s an ongoing service designed to help identify and address electrical problems before they potentially become much bigger problems.

If you have an eligible Westfield homeowners or farm policy, enrollment is handled through your MyWestfield account.
If you already have an account, simply log in to MyWestfield and enroll in the Ting program.
Don’t have a MyWestfield account yet? You can create your account here. Once your account is created, link your Westfield policy and select the Ting option to claim your sensor.
When your Ting arrives, setup only takes a few minutes. You’ll need a smartphone, Wi-Fi connection, and an available electrical outlet. Plug it in, connect it through the Ting app, and you’re ready to go.
